Telespazio is a global space leader with exceptional international reach and an unrivaled track record with European entities,” said Stewart BainCEO and co-founder of NorthStar.
In 2023, NorthStar will launch the first commercial space system entirely dedicated to Space Situational Awareness (SSA). NorthStar’s unique “always-on” constellation simultaneously monitors all near-Earth orbit regimes to enhance awareness and accurate tracking of resident space objects.
Telespazio will integrate NorthStar’s suite of space solutions into its overall space awareness value proposition to government customers as a trusted local partner, based on decades of consolidated expertise in providing satellite communications, information geographic, applications, security and military space systems. NorthStar’s superior information services, combined with Telespazio’s secure infrastructure and value-added services, will provide customers with customized, high-performance end-to-end solutions.
“NorthStar’s Space Collection and suite of derived SSA Information Services will provide a single ‘always-on’ 3D view of the entire space environment. NorthStar’s unprecedented data quality and rapid revisit enable Telespazio to refine our ability to detect, track, predict, identify and characterize space objects and debris, which is essential to meet sophisticated market requirements, for example in defense applications”, said Luigi PasqualiCEO of Telespazio.
Telespazio will leverage NorthStar’s enhanced SSA capabilities to serve customers across Europe through its headquarters at Italy as well as subsidiaries in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Belgiumand Romania.
Telespazio, as part of the space alliance between Leonardo and Thales, invested in NorthStar’s initial funding round and supported the risk reduction and study phase of NorthStar’s space constellation. This agreement confirms the cooperation between the companies and paves the way for accelerated future success.
NorthStar seeks to empower humanity to preserve our planet through a unique platform of space and Earth information and intelligence using space-based sensors.
