Jujutsu Kaisen Producer Reveals Hilarious Problem Behind Megumi’s Domain Expansion Scene

Jujutsu Kaisen ‘The producer opened up about the hilarious and unexpected issue with Megumi Fushiguro’s domain extension debut in the anime! The anime’s first season was such a hit with fans that sales of Gege Akutami’s original manga skyrocketed, especially towards the end of the first season. The season finale arc saw Yuji Itadori, Nobara Kugisaki, and Megumi take on their own powerful opponents.

But as the producer behind the anime, Keisuke Seshimo, revealed during the special Jujutsu kaisen panel held during Studio MAPPA’s 10th anniversary celebration (which also featured the first glimpse of new anime projects like Man with chainsaw), the team behind the anime were at odds over portraying Megumi with an “ugly” face, as he’s normally such a cool person, even in the midst of fights. They even had to assign someone for the express purpose of making them “ugly” at the time.

As reported by @soukatsu_ on Twitter, Seshimo noted how “conflicted” they were about portraying Megumi with an “ugly face” when using the domain extension scene in the anime, as he is generally a “handsome” “ikemen” [which roughly refers to a cool or exciting man]. ”Seshimo then noted that even with her nosebleed and bloodied face in the fight, Megumi still looked cool. What’s even more hilarious, though, is that it’s a problem it is. they already had with the anime.

Seshimo explained that the staff had to specifically assign someone to Megumi’s animated domain expansion to make sure he had as “ugly” a face as possible because in his past fights in the anime, he always had a “pretty” face even when losing fights. . The emphasis on “ugliness” may be surprising, but it also fits Akutami’s original series, as the creator often makes his characters look the most intense when they are fighting for their lives.

It adds to the overall brutality of the series, and it’s genuinely hilarious to hear that the anime struggled to figure out how to fix this with Megumi’s final fight from season one.
